Lincoln Institution Scholarship Finances

 

Scholarships were funded either by an annual payment or by an endowment. The payments for these schemes changed over the years. This document lists these payment schemes from the Lincoln Institution and Educational Home annual reports.

Educational Home

Art. 23d of By-Laws. SUBSCRIPTION TO SCHOLARSHIPS. The payment of $125 per annum to “The Educational Home” constitutes a Scholarship, for the maintenance and education of a pupil while such payment continues, or the gift of $2000 will endow a perpetual Scholarship.

Lincoln Institution

Art. 23d of By-Laws. The payment of $150 per annum to the “Lincoln Institution,” shall constitute a Scholarship, and the church or person so contributing, shall be entitled during such payment, to the maintenance and education of a pupil in the Institution, subject to its rules, provided a vacancy occur for his reception.
