NOTICE TO MILLERS

11.16.1847 American Republican
THE subscribers have invented and secured
the patent right of a machine for kiln drying
Indian Corn, which, from practical experiment,
they are satisfied is superior in every respect to
any other machine for he same purpose now offered
to the public.
Their machine is upon the rotary principle, calculated
for either wood or coal, adapted tro mills
of every grade, varying in size so as to dry from
one hundred to one thousand bushels per day, at
prices accordingly.
In point of economy of construction and fuel,
as well as the perfect manner in which they dry
the corn, these machines far surpass any others
now in use. They can be put up in the basement
story of any mill, as a machine of ordinary capacity,
only occupies a space of 5 by 7 feet, and is as
secure from danger of fire as an ordinary stove or
oven. The subscribes are aware that a prejudice
to some extent exists against corn kilns of the old
construction upon the rotary principle, therefore,
they respectfully invite practical men to come
and view their machine, feeling satisfied that after
an examination they will fully concur in the
above statement, and commend it worthy the attention
of all persons in want of corn kilns.
One of our kilns is in successful operation at
the Great Valley Mill, 2 1/2 miles north of Paoli,
Chester county, where persons wishing to view
for themselves will please call.
All persons who may have it in contemplation
to erect corn kilns are respectively solicited to
try our machines, as we warrant them to answer
the purpose or no sale.
We have our machines built under our immediate
direction and supervision, and are prepared
to put them up at short notice.
All communications or orders directed to Paoli
P.O. , Chester county, Pa., will be punctually
attended to. BEAVER & KNAUER.
